Affidavit:  Given a written statment or printed declaration or statement under oath.

General Damages: Means compensation paid for your injury caused (physical injury), your pain, your suffering and lose of use.

 

Injury - Which part of your body has been injured due to the accident.

 

Limitation - You have three years from your accident date to make a claim unless you are under the age of 18 years old. An extension can be granted by the court of law under the legal process. 

 

Loss of income - Money you have lost because of the accident.

 

Medical treatment - Medical treatment given by your gp, hospital, dentist or self medicated

 

Special Damages - Means financial expenses/losses because of the accident. Other expenses/losses that you may be able to claim for

 

Solicitor - A solicitor is a legally qualified to help you deal with your perosnal injury claim. Your solicitor has a duty to advise you on matters of law within the UK. They are fully regulated by the Law Society.

 

Third party - The individual or firm you hold responsible for causing your injury.

 

Quantum - The amount of compensation award given for your injury
