Complaints Procedure

We aim to give clients an efficient and effective service. During the course of the case, if there are any matters which you are concerned about or need clarifying, then please do not hesitate to contact us.

If, at any time, you are not happy with the service you are receiving from the firm, please let us know. You are a valued client of the firm and we should like the opportunity to put matters right if any problems do arise. In the first instance, please contact your file handler and they will do what they can to resolve the problem promptly. If, however, they are not able to resolve matters to your satisfaction, you should then contact Andrew Mckie who is the director responsible for the firm’s complaints procedure.

We will try to deal with any problem quickly and operate an internal complaints handling system to help us resolve matters between ourselves. If you require a copy of our Complaints Procedure, please let us know.  Once our Complaints Procedure is concluded, ifyou are not satisfied with the firm’s reply, you can contact the Legal Ombudsman. The Legal Ombudsman is a free, impartial and independent service, which deals with complaints about the service you have received.

You must complain to the Ombudsman within six months of receiving a final response to your complaint from the firm (provided the response specifically notifies you of your right to complain to the Ombudsman and of the six month time limit). A complaint to the Ombudsman must also be made not more than six years after the act or omission complained about or not more than three years from the date when you should reasonably have known that there were grounds for complaint.
